The original 283-cu.
in. V-8 engine block was cracked and replaced less than a year ago with the rebuilt same-year 283 in this pickup, which the seller reports has about 300 miles on it since. The four-speed manual transmission and clutch have also been gone through. The seller says the engine âstarts easily when cold using the choke, and
without the choke when warm, â and the transmission âshifts easily through all gears. â This truck received a full restoration, performed by Crumrine Auto Restoration Services in Bliss, Idaho, about 10 years ago. No plastic fillers were used during the restoration, he adds.
The condition of the blue and white paint is described as âvery good, â including the clear topcoats. Any rust issues were addressed during the restoration, so the truck is rust-free, per the seller. The windshield was replaced, but all the other glass is original and in good condition, and the weatherstripping was replaced. The interior was restored using factory-correct reproduction materials. The upholstery
condition and floor coverings are described as âlike new. â Even the shifter boot has a Bowtie emblem on it. The truck has working radio and heater. The dashboard paint looks excellent in the photos.
The headliner is new and the dome light functions, as it should, all gauges work properly. The frame and suspension components still look freshly restored! The tires were new at the time of the restoration and have less than 500 miles on them.

American Motors produced just 1,430 Rambler American Custom two-door station wagons in 1960.
This example has been given the restomod treatment, with a conversion to a sedan delivery-type vehicle with a cargo-type rear interior that now gets its motive power from a modern General Motors-sourced powertrain. With custom paint and a high-luxury
customized passenger cabin for two, this Rambler is further customized with tailgate trim straps fabricated from its original AMC factory roof rack. It is also equipped with aftermarket air conditioning. This station wagon is now powered by a Chevrolet 4.3-liter OHV V-6 engine mated to a General Motors Turbo Hydra-Matic 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission.
The engine receives its fuel mixture via a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor topped by a custom-painted air cleaner, with chromed rocker covers that are also visible. The Rambler is also equipped with a Chevrolet S-10 rear end that the seller says has 3.08 Positraction gearing. No functional issues, smoke or powertrain
leaks. The engine bay appears to be generally clean. the custom paint dates to 2014 and is in good overall condition, noting a few scratches and swirls. The body seals are said to be in as-new condition.
As to rust, some bodywork was performed before the Rambler was repainted. The car is now equipped with Chevrolet side mirrors. The chrome presents as being in good, undamaged condition. The glass is reported to be in good shape and free of cracks. All lighting is described as functional. The underside presents as generally clean. this Rambler has been turned from a station wagon into a quasi-sedan delivery by removal of the rear seat, which will not be included in the sale. The Rambler
is now equipped with dual Acura leather bucket seats that look to be in very good condition.
The carpet is said to date to 2014 and be in good condition. The Rambler is fitted with aftermarket air conditioning and heating that is reported to be functional. An aftermarket engine-turned panel in the steel dashboard mounts engine gauges, plus a Sony audio system that is said to be operable. A Pontiac Trans Am steering wheel and a fire extinguisher have been added. The cargo area appears to be generally clean.

The 255-cu.
in. flathead V-8 is believed to be original to the car, and has been converted to a 12-volt electrical system. The engine has Fenton headers and a dual exhaust system with Smitty mufflers. The seller reports that the engine has not been rebuilt during his ownership and he does not know of any rebuild history. He says he installed
a 12-volt priming pump âto aid the stock fuel pump on cold starts after long periods of inactivity. â The car has an automatic choke, and the seller notes a puff of smoke on cold startup. There are some drops of oil from the engine and the rebuilt three-speed manual transmission with overdrive reportedly âshifts well.
â The original cloth upholstery is protected by clear vinyl seat covers on both bench seats. The seller reports a tear in the seat cover on the back of the driverâs side. He says the carpet condition is good and there are no sags, tears, or stains on the headliner. The oil pressure gauge and the clock donât currently work. A large Stewart-Warner tachometer is
mounted to the steering column. This modified Mercury has been lowered slightly with Fatman dropped front spindles and Posies Superglide rear springs with lowering blocks in back.
The seller notes âsome playâ in the steering, but says the steering wheel âpoints straight and the car drives great. â The suspension components are lubed as part of regular oil changes. The shocks have been replaced and the rest of the suspension is in good condition, according to the seller. The age of the tires is estimated at 20 years, but the remaining tread depth is âlike new. â The period-correct wheel covers are from a 1957 Cadillac.
