1959 Edsel convertibles were built according to the Edsel registry and you don't see many for sale as most are in hands of private collectors According to e Bay's completed listings there has not been an Edsel Convertible for sale since late 2014 and only a few are available nationwide This Edsel runs and drives good for it's age and the fact that ithas not ever been a total restoration but certainly is a worthy candidate It has been repainted at some point in it's past.I think that the interior upholstery may be original The body does have it's issues with some bubbling of the paint in the lower body panels and there is some rust at the front of both inner rocker panels. The floor pans look good and solid and are the original floors.the quarters have been repaired in the past also and there is some rust in the inner quarter drop off panels where they meet the bottom of the quarters The interior is presentable but the front seat on the driver's side has 3 seams separating The paint is driver quality at best and still looks good from a short distance but up close you can see the blemishes The bumpers have very good chrome and some of the other chrome is showing pittingUsed 1959 96,000 miles

This is truly a great find!
After World War II American auto makers started adding chrome back to their vehicles and this car is loaded with chrome. It's " Fluid Drive Transmission" is the pre-curser to the automatic transmission. It takes a little getting used to but works just fine. This is a 6 Volt system that has electronic ignition
and a Sisson Automatic Choke that starts with ease. The interior is Plaid like the original and is in really great shape. The top is like new though I rarely put it up as this car was meant to be driven with the top down. It looks so regal going down the road with the only thing missing is FDR sitting in the rear seat.

1937 De Soto Convertible Coupe with RUMBLE SEATS3 Series High-Quality Correct Professional Level Restoration1,220 Miles This is an exceptional find for Collector who takes pride in the ownership of a rare Convertible with the benefit of a high-quality restoration already completed.
With an original total production number of only 992, it's likely
that you may not see another like this one. 1937 saw Desoto drop the Airflow and re-engineer an all new car incorporating the best engineering from the Airflow era. Take a close look at the design details of this " rolling art" On a historical design note of the 1930's, the " Art Deco" era was influencing automobile design as well.
For this 1937 De Soto, it is well noted by the beautiful design of the grill extending into the fenders which received a patent by well-known automobile designer Ray Dietrich. You'll spot other nods to the era as you look over the photos. The documentation that will be included with the sale will be a copy of the original factory "
build card" owners manual, numerous pieces of literature, parts books, and all of the brochures that came with the car as well as anything that was found in untold hours of searching and collecting like the Dietrich patent.
The authenticity of the restoration includes the numerous original factory options like overdrive, in-dash radio with the rare âhidden â antenna under the running boards, banjo steering wheel, dual âair-tone â horns, heater and fender âshields â as De Soto called skirts. Please also note that the fender " skirts" are fully restored and included with the sale. A few of the photos show the driver's side " skirt" in place to
illustrate " the look" some may prefer this. This is one that you will be proud to own and show.
It has been well sorted since the restoration, so you will enjoy it's good manners on the road as well.
