In the 70s many buyers bought enduro bikes and stripped the headlights, gauges, turn signals, etc to have a light weight trail bike. In 1975 Kawasaki decided to appeal to that market directly with the dirt only KD125. The KD125 is a dirt only version of the KS and later KE125s.
