A beautiful Tribute to the best year of the 442.
Number one color of Viking Blue with wide white body side stripes and white stripes on the hood with a white convertible top. Pearl white interior. Matching numbers 455/V8 engine matted to the TH400 automatic transmission hooked up to the 12 bolt rearend with the correct W27 aluminum diff cover.
This vehicle has been sorted out and is a pleasure to drive. No disappointments. The engine bay is highly detailed as well as the rest of the vehicle and even includes the correct red plastic inner fender wells. Attention to detail was high on the list. This vehicle was redone about 5 years ago and still shows beautifully.
One chip on hood near hood lock and one pea sized bubble on lower drivers rocker panel. You can show it or drive it. All the chrome and bright work trim has been re-chromed, polished, or replaced as needed to look as perfect as possible. All of the stripes are straight and were painted on this vehicle. They are buried under lots of coats of clear. The hood is functional
and works great. The interior is almost all original. The seats have been redone but the door panels and carpets are original. Carpet shows patina (faded). Interior looks like new.
(SEE PHOTOS). The bucket seat interior with floor console completes the correct look for this vehicle. Everything works as supposed to EVEN THE CLOCK. The dash pad and bezels, all knobs etc. have been replaced as well as the rear view mirror. All of the gages work correctly also. In the glovebox is a hidden Kenwood CD player, to help enjoy the ride on those cruise nights. All of the interior lights, even the console light works correctly. This car shows BEAUTIFULLY. The power top with the glass back window
works fine and has had the fluid flushed and changed. It also has the pedestal rear spoiler on it.
Which really makes the car look awesome from behind with the trumpet exhaust tips and rechromed rear bumper. The spare tire is a matching painted rallye wheel with a matching BF Goodrich tire on it. The jack, lug wrench, and all correct trunk decals are present and look perfect. The odometer reads 19056 miles but the clean and clear title reads exempt due to its age. I believe the true mileage is 119056. With the components rebuilt the mileage is unimportant. I tried to describe it as accurately as possible. It is a wonderful vehicle.

The car can best be described as a good daily driver.
A sweet spot between being a trailer queen and something that you would be embarrassed to be seen in. During my 8-year ownership I have done the following: Redone the interior of the car in black (formerly red). This included installing Hushmat on the firewall (in black), Hushmat along the
entire floor surface as well as two layers on the transmission tunnel. New carpet kit from Moss along with new floor mats. New padding for the seats. New black vinyl rails for the birdpit. New dash (painted to match exterior color). New or refurbished Jaeger gauges - all matching and in working order.
New three point retractable seat belts with factory correct mounts. The interior also includes a nice Moto-Lita steering wheel along with aluminum frame covers. The car includes a Retro-Sound stereo which is pressure mounted to the dash so it can be easily converted back to a radio blank without damaging the dash paint. This stereo combines modern technology with old-fashioned looks. Also
included is a speaker housing that mounts to the spare tire screws so it too can easily be converted back for those wanting originality. Mechanically the car has been converted to a negative ground with new brake lines, suspension bushings, as well as numerous gaskets and hoses (receipts upon request).
On the outside, the car has new Minilite style rims in chrome and gunmetal gray with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. It has a black short style tonneau cover along with a black top (not installed). Just FYI - I changed the odometer reading to 17,416 because that is what it shows. Unsure of exact mileage (which is pretty normal for a car of this era)

Very nice 1962 chevy impala convertible, 283 v8, auto, great shape.
Clean title, runs and drives like new. Power top and radio work flawlessly, glass all in good shape other than a crack in drivers window which happened last week. The car has been owned by the same gentleman since 1978 and truely is a DREAM to drive.
