Then the rest of the bike was completely disassembled with plans to " restore" and repaint but luckily that's as far as it went. Nothing else was stripped or charred on this bike except the tanks and dash. The gas tanks had a few small rust holes from sitting in the shed where it wasstored for 60 years with no paint so we painted them (and sealed them inside) to match the fenders. It's hard to tell the tanks and dash were painted, they blend very well with the fenders. The speedo was rebuilt recently and works well. Everything works on this bike except the horn.
I've put around 150 miles on this bike and it runs and rides great with no issues. However this bike is not rebuilt new. simply inspected all parts and reassembled " as is" but in good running order. The following parts were replaced: wrist pin bushings, crank pin bearings, and new pistons and rings 40 over. All internal parts in transmission looked slightly used but nice and original! This bikeruns nice smooth and strong with no noise or smoke. Trans shifts great. I did rewire this bike using correct cloth wire from Colony. I also added new Firestone 16" tires.
The only new or repo parts on this bike (that I know of) is the wiring, bulbs, tires, gas caps, pistons, a few bushings, a voltage relay and the muffler. The rest is Harley Davidson and original to the bike. This motorcycle does come with a clear title.Used 1947 Harley-Davidson K 21,355 miles

1962 Matchless G50 Factory Racer500cc Single Cylinder, with magnesium cases, Amal GP carburetor, correct front and rear brakes, older restoration on a very correct and unmolested factory racer.
This motorcycle has been on static display in a private collection for many years. A full inspection and a new set of tires will be required prior to returning to competion use. The 1962 was the last year model for the Matchless G50 and is the most collectable and desirable of all years.

older Italian gentlemen! I have had the original tank professionally re-sprayed in factory Turquoise Blue. I've also acquired a genuine early 60's aftermarket Sports Seat, had a quality re-chrome done on the exhaust muffler added a genuine Speedo (didn't originally come with one and still have the blank plate for the Headstem which I will supply to the buyer).
It has had a recent Full Service who have also re-built the Carby and serviced the Forks. That being said, the bike starts first kick and all of its lights, speedo and horn work efficiently. The only issues are that on the bottom part of the fuel tank, around the fuel tap, the paint is bubbling slightly (see pic).
